When it’s foggy!

When it’s cold and shrill

And quiet like death

When it’s dim and dark

With fear and dread

When it’s misty enough

To jumble the thought

When it’s still but creeping

With freaking drought

When it’s pale and dusty

And mingled and tangled

My friend makes me smile

And everything is handled!

    1. That is not the issue, I think, as ‘shrilling quiet’ is an old and commonly used idea in poetry like ‘echoing silence’ etc. But’Still’ and ‘Creeping’ at the same time can be one! Here, it’s the ‘creeping still’ that I mean.
